We love each other. No really, we do. We think you should love us, too. Today we are continuing our series that lets you get to know our Army of Awesome. Meet our newest Social Media Manager, Quisha Elom-Ashley!

1. How was your first day of work at ARPR?

My first day in the office was great. Since I was lucky enough to come to visit the office a week before my official first day, I already felt really comfortable with the team and ready to get to work when I got there.

2. What song best describes your work ethic?

I would have to go a little eccentric on the song choice here and use one of my favorite songs by Gorillaz, “Empire Ants (Feat. Little Dragon)”. Much like the cadence of the song, I tend to start my work really methodically and then build into a hyper-focused groove until the work is complete.

3. Describe your ultimate sandwich?

As a self-proclaimed burger connoisseur, I would have to say my ultimate sandwich would actually be a burger. Slap an impossible burger patty topped with purple onions, BBQ sauce, and a grilled pineapple between to buns and I’m in heaven.

4. Which two celebrities (dead or alive) would you pick to be your parents?

Oprah and Will Smith. With all that wisdom and charisma combined, I would be unstoppable!

5. What is your biggest non-work-related achievement?

My biggest non-work-related achievement would have to be the recycling program I started in high school. I was not a fan of all the plastic bottles I was witnessing my schoolmates throw away, so I decided to get permission from the school to set up recycling bins around the school to reduce the waste. I am proud to say that not only do they still recycle at my old high school, but they even upgraded the recycling bins.

6. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Rude people. Even on the worst of days, I still believe people have the capacity to communicate effectively without demining or being rude to author person.

7. Describe yourself in 3 words.

Determined, Empathetic, and Random.

8. Your life would be meaningless without…

My daughter, my husband, my friends, and my family. They always keep me grounded in this fast-paced world.

9. Favorite board game?

I always love a good day-long game of Monopoly. But whenever that’s not an option I enjoy a fun game of Guesstures. It’s like charades but timed.

10. Where did you grow up?

I was actually born and raised in Atlanta, GA (which is now rare to find in this city). However, since I spent most of my childhood summers in Detroit with my grandmother, I like to believe I partially grew up there as well.

11. Favorite thing about the tech industry?

My favorite thing about the tech industry is the numerous possibilities. My mind is always blown at the new ways technology is able to transform the way we work, live, and grow as a society.

12. If you could bring one piece of technology to a remote island, which would it be?

I would have to bring my iPod. Nowadays, going away to a remote island almost sounds like a vacation, and on this “vacation” I would need lots of music to go along with all my free time for writing.

13. If you were a Star Wars character, which would you be?

Even though I have always been a personal fan of R2D2, I would have to go with Rey from The Force Awakens’. Like me, she seems to be a ‘Jane-of-all-trades’ that doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty to ensure that the mission is complete.

14. What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Tons of milk for my daughter, smoothie blends for my husband, and an unnecessary amount of fresh strawberries for me (to fuel my strawberry and Nutella addiction). You will also be surprised at the excessive amounts of ginger ale we own, which is great at settling upset stomachs while being constantly delicious.

15. How would you explain what the Internet is to your 5-year-old nephew in one sentence?

I would explain to him that the Internet is a place that anyone in the World with a computer or phone can go to meet other people, learn how to do new things, and watch the Baby Shark Dance video 2 billion times. However, I would assume my nephew would only care about one of those things.
