Position CEO Michael Morgan as an Industry Leader

Updox partnered with ARPR to develop a coordinated campaign to position CEO Michael Morgan as a thought leader on patient engagement. The campaign needed to support multiple product launches including Updox Secure Text and Video Chat, which offer patients greater flexibility and convenience in how they communicate with their doctors and pharmacists while addressing challenges with related technologies. The campaign also needed to support Updox’s sales teams in closing more deals with its suite of patient engagement solutions included.

Tie Consumerism in Healthcare to the Need for New Technology

Healthcare providers realize the potential of new technology to improve the healthcare experience just as it has for consumer-driven industries like retail and banking. Referencing this, ARPR worked with Updox to place a series of contributed articles and timely interviews tying the trend of healthcare consumerism to the need for providers to 1.) improve the patient experience 2.) better engage patients in their care and 3.) offer the flexibility and convenience that patients want via an all-in-one platform that addresses staff frustrations. In this way, Mike would be positioned as an authority on some of the leading issues facing physicians while clearly pointing out the need for a solution like Updox in healthcare trade media.

Breakthrough Into New Publications

Working together with Updox CEO Michael Morgan, ARPR was able to place a series of 12 thought leadership articles on the future of technology and consumerism in healthcare, helping Updox breakthrough into top-tier publications like Physicians Practice and HIT Consultant for the first time. These articles touched on the need for physicians to think holistically about the touchpoints that shape the patient experience, connecting patient engagement to the practice’s bottom line, how staff frustration and burnout impact patient care and much more. Recognizing the importance of pharmacists in patient care, the team extended the campaign to leading pharmacy publications including Drug Topics and Drug Store News. Finally, Mike was interviewed for the first time by outlets like Thrive Global and Medical Economics on patient engagement. As a result, Updox is now a top result for “patient video chat” in Google searches, and the sales team has increased by double digits the share of deals that include Updox’s patient engagement platform.
