Future of PR

Future of PR

The Future of PR is a movement that ARPR built based on our unshakeable desire to push the PR industry into its next era.

Public relations was founded nearly 125 years ago, and for much of its history, the industry enjoyed a heyday of profits, prominence and popularity. But today, agencies suffer from declining margins, PR pros struggle to measure true ROI, and we’ve let niche sectors grab our communications market share. To tackle these challenges and help shore up the reputation and longevity of our industry, we launched futureofpr.org.

87%

of PR execs believe the term "public relations" does not accurately describe the work they will be doing in five years.

1.9%

The percentage PR firms spend of their annual revenue on technology.

10

PR consistently ranks as one of the top 10 most stressful professions.

"Under increasing demands, journalists need more than copy. They need paths -- to newsmakers & chance-takers. Today's smart PR pros see this and deliver."
