ROB NACHBAR

Rob stumbled into his career in technology PR when he moved to Seattle for grad school but instead found himself smack dab in the middle of the dotcom boom, shortly before it went belly up. From the earliest SaaS companies and infrastructure automation platforms to cybersecurity, DevOps, and Artificial Intelligence, Rob is passionate about taking a deep dive into complex technologies and translating them into compelling stories that resonate with their target audience.

As sr. account director for ARPR’s cybersecurity practice group, Rob brings more than two decades of experience helping enterprise technology and cybersecurity companies find creative ways to break through the market clutter. During his time in Seattle, Rob directed accounts on behalf of Opsware, the pioneering IT automation software company founded by Marc Andreessen as well as for Concur, one of the first and most successful enterprise SaaS companies to emerge from the Pacific Northwest. As the Communications Director for Apptio, he helped define the nascent Technology Business Management category, helping position the company for one of the area’s largest enterprise IPOs of the past decade.

In 2015, Rob migrated a few hours south to Portland, Oregon where he could more easily ride a bike and sample food from any of the 500-plus food trucks around the city.  Since making Portland home, he’s led communications for iovation, a provider of fraud prevention and multifactor authentication services which was acquired by Transunion in 2018. As an independent consultant and founder of Kismet Communications, he has also helped dozens of early-stage enterprise start-ups bring their enterprise solutions to market.

When he’s not planning and executing inspired PR campaigns for his clients, you’ll find Rob tickling the ivories, cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes or Seattle Seahawks, and spending quality time with his wife (Rae), their two kids (Taavi & Reed), and their new Chi-weenie puppy (Lil Papi Chulo).
